Alexandra Danzig is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she specializes in visual culture, media theory, and the evolving intersections of photography and technology. With an interdisciplinary foundation that spans media studies, visual communication, and the photographic medium, Danzig’s research critically examines the theoretical, cultural and social implications of AI-generated imagery in contemporary visual environments.

Danzig plays an active role in advancing academic and community engagement within the Faculty of Social Sciences. She currently serves as managing assistant in the faculty’s Engagement and Impact programs, and also coordinates the Faculty’s Internship Program. She works as a teaching assistant in the course “Visual Communication” in the Department of Communication and Journalism.


In parallel with her academic pursuits, Danzig brings a strong background in art and photography, holding a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. Her photographic works have been exhibited across Israel in venues such as ANU Museum, Tel Aviv, The New Gallery, The Artists' Workshops in Teddy, Jerusalem and others. Her photographic works have been published in leading magazines such as Maale and Granta Hebrew. In recognition of her artistic achievements, she has received several awards, including the Hermann Struck Award for the Professions of Printmaking (2021, commendation) and the ANU Museum Prize for a Selected Student Art Work (2018).
